Biography
Emily Buchner is a mixed media artist based in East Tennessee whose work moves through the beautifully dark, the surreal, and the dreamlike. She works across photography, sculpture, and design, creating emotionally charged pieces that explore themes of love, loss, and abuse. Her art examines the fragile spaces between tenderness and pain, vulnerability and strength. Emily draws inspiration from the moods and storytelling found in film, music, and video games. Works like Crimson Peak (2015), American McGee’s Alice: Madness Returns, and Yaeklore’s Harpy Hare influence the tone and atmosphere of her creations, shaping the emotional depth that defines her work. Each piece is an invitation to feel—whether it’s comfort, recognition, or realization. Through her art, Emily reveals beauty within darkness and meaning within emotion.
